Sparky Jetstream: Space Boy

This is for Advanced Survey of Computer Art Applications. I wanted to design a character who could have appeared in a 50s cartoon show, and Sparky here is the end result. He was constucted in Illustrator, which was great to get his geometric body constucted. The background was painted in Photoshop. I'm pretty proud of it; my goal was to mimic the sponge-painted backgrounds of yore.

Added some painterly shading to it. I think it looks better. Mutes the colors nicely, anyway. Comments would be appreciated as to the impact of this!
